Safety Stools

Somewhere around the age of 2, your child will begin to develop a curiosity about what is going on in the kitchen. Food preparation keeps you busy and consumes time that you might otherwise be spending directly with them. It is natural to become interested in what you are doing. We can, and should encourage their help! With a little preparation and some creative thinking, we can help develop our child’s awareness of foods. Children who help to prepare a meal are more apt to want to eat it, which helps parents in the age-old battle against picky eating.

Between the ages of 2 and 3, a few of the tasks your child should be able to help with are:
  • washing fruits and vegetables
  • tearing lettuce
  • shaking plastic containers of salad dressing
  • tearing bread
  • breaking asparagus into pieces

  • In order to engage your child safely in the work they will be doing, a stool safely suited for this purpose is best. We’ve chosen both of these products for their versatility and safe designs.

As your child gets older, your will find that these stools grow with your child, and they are equally as ready to support and protect your pre-schooler as she starts to help with the mixing and stirring, as well. The perfect stool for kids who cook.
