Summer Camp is the best opportunity we have to teach those slow rising breads that fascinate us all. Breads with big holes that are chewy on the inside and deliciously crusty on the outside. Rich, warm breads that make people look at you suspiciously when you tell them that you made it yourself. Kids will be cooking up luscious and amazing favorites, like White Peasant Loaf that takes a full 24 hours to make; and Molasses Oatmeal Bread that will have your family looking forward to sandwiches, again. There are those stuffed breads that are a meal on their own, too, where we will exercise our creativity by making Calzones. I can imagine the fun we will have when we learn to toss the dough in the air when we make Pizza Dough for Pizza Marguerite, too. Making sure we keep the class well-rounded, we will mix in a little of the faster rising breads, like Buttermilk Biscuits that melt in your mouth and Herbed Batter Bread that smells like heaven while it bakes. A full 9 recipes that you’ll be proud to share with friends, or just savor yourself!
