Maybe you’ve seen the movie… maybe you’ve seen her cookbooks… maybe you’ve never heard of her… no matter where you stand on your knowledge of The French Chef you’re sure to LOVE this cooking camp! We’ll be making our way through some of Julia Child’s most beloved recipes, tweaking her techniques for the very capable child chef. Simple and classic French recipes Vichysoisse (leek and potato soup that is mmmmmmm….), Crepes and Mornay Sauce are paired with the more difficult Souffles; as well as the expected Boeuf Bourguignon and Quiche Lorraine. We’ll successfully master Pita Bread and French Bread, too! These are the recipes that every serious cook loves to master, and the techniques that every home cook wishes they knew. Of course, we’ll make sure the French vocabulary is demystified, too. After all, what is “Boeuf”, anyway? This class is sure to have you proclaiming, “Bon Appetit!”
*class length is longer due to the complexity of some of the recipes and long cooking times. We'll build in time for breaks and a few giggles here and there...
*please also note that we will be using cooking wine- all of the alcohol is burned off in cooking. Normally, we would make substitutions to replicate flavor, but under the circumstances, we decided it best to stay true to Julia's intentions! I'm so excited for this class!
