One of the things I love most about New Hampshire is our country fairs. The smell of 4-H barns full of calves and lambs brings me back to being a little girl in rural western Mass. In this cooking camp, we'll work with kids over some of summer's best endings...prize-winning harvest items like Spicy Dill Pickles and Carrot Cake. Maybe some Relish and Salsa and Jam for the judges tables, too. We want to take advantage of the fresh fruits and vegetables that August blesses us with. Of course, we can't hold a kids cooking class on country fairs and not venture into the midway. Recipes like Cider Donuts and Maple Fudge will lure us in that direction. Will you come up with a prize-winning entry for this year's fair? We think you might!
