The For Kids Who Cook Advanced Class is designed for the young chef who is ready to take their cooking to the next level. I’ve been known to say that cooking is both art and science. There is great value in a chef who can be both creative and precise. In these kids cooking classes, we will be challenging our chefs to develop a creative mind and a scientific method.
To begin, each two-hour class will have us pulling a recipe apart, one ingredient at a time to understand what each adds to the dish. As a class, we will each cook the recipe of the day, as written, for skills practice and instruction. Once completed, the chefs will then be asked to start fresh, this time deviating from the recipe, making changes for a creation that is entirely their own.
How do you know you are ready for the Advanced Class? If you can duplicate a recipe with consistent, repeated success, yet find yourself “making stuff up” all the time, you’re probably ready. Advanced class students should have an open palate (like to try new tastes), have confidence in the kitchen and LOVE to cook.
Chefs will be required to wear a chef coat and pants (provided at the first class and included in the membership fee) and can expect to complete the 16 week course with a written collection of their own recipes.

Classes will begin promptly at 4:30 and go to approximately 6:30pm- much depends on the chefs!
Kids 10 and up
Must be able to read and follow a recipe independently

Cost for the Advanced Class is $124 per month (4 months) or $504 total. Fees include all classroom materials, chef coat and pants and a FKWC t-shirt.
