3-5 Year Old Cooking Classes

This is an ideal age to expose your child to different experiences. Children at this age are curious and eager to get into the action. These “parent-assisted” classes give a parent hands-on learning with their child so that both can become familiar with ways to make the kitchen a safe, enjoyable learning environment.

Children are more likely to eat healthfully if they are involved with preparing it. The more we can do to interest them in healthy foods, the more likely we are to encourage a healthy attitude about food and its associations.

These classes are designed to introduce concepts like kitchen safety, basic measurement and teamwork. We will stress counting, color and simple shapes as well as following directions.

Cooking skills that we will stress are mixing, pouring, wrapping, shaking, spreading, peeling, rolling and mashing. If appropriate, we will introduce additional skills of measuring, cutting, grinding and grating.

  • Classes are 1.5 hours in length.
  • There are new recipes every week and classes are offered on Mondays @10:30 and Fridays @4:00.
